How do I join the group?
If you’re eager to come to rehearsals regularly and willing to put in the effort, you’re already ready to join us! No previous dance experience is required - all you need is the motivation! We’ll kick off the season on 8 September. Let us know you’re planning to come so we know to expect you, and we’ll see you at rehearsal! Send us a message on social media or fill in the form below!
What should I wear to rehearsal?
For your first rehearsal, wear comfortable sportswear and suitable shoes, and definitely bring a water bottle! Our official rehearsal outfit is a Londona Dejo T-shirt, with black tennis skirts for the girls and black shorts for the guys. We’ll tell you more about it at your first rehearsal!
Will you be preparing for the Latvian Song and Dance Festival?
Yes - and we’ll start preparing for them this season! The festival is just around the corner, taking place in summer 2028, so now is the perfect time to join us and experience it together!
Do you only dance together?
A folk dance group is a great place to make new friends and meet new people! We don’t just dance together - we celebrate together, go on hikes, and spend time together after rehearsals at Balzāmbārs, just two floors below our rehearsal room! And the parties after our concerts make you feel, for a moment, like you’re at a traditional Latvian 'zaļumballe'!
